The regulation describes the participation rules, eligibility criteria, and operation of all ONIA phases.

Free participation for students and schools
Open to students in grades 7–12 in Portugal
Three levels in the National Challenge: I (7th–8th), II (9th–10th), III (11th–12th)
Tests available in PT and EN
The top 4 represent Portugal at IOAI 2026

Registrations are made through schools (teachers register the classes on the official platform).
